Saturday, July 1st, 1961: Jacob Bates Selected June's Best Batter
Fans, friends, and family were cheering today when Jacob Bates received June's South League Batter of the Month Award.

Bates stung the ball all month, posting a .402 batting average with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

This week's outstanding performer in the South League was catcher Jacob Bates of the San Bernadino Bears.
