Haywood Waters of the Kingsville Ranchers put the wraps on a fantastic week of play by being named the Gulf League Player of the Week.
The hot-hitting right fielder was a bonafide batting machine as he racked up 13 hits in 23 at-bats, no home runs, .565 BA, 2 RBIs, 4 runs, 3 walks and a .615 OBP.
Waters is presently batting .331 with no home runs, 18 runs scored and 7 RBIs. His OBP is .382. |

It was a razor-sharp performance by José Perucho of the Kingsville Ranchers against the San Antonio Bears. He fashioned a fine 5-hitter in blanking them 3-0 and chalked up 1 strikeout and 1 walk.
This year Perucho has registered 8 wins and 3 losses in 14 starts with a 3.81 ERA while registering 31 strikeouts and 33 walks in 99.1 innings. |
