| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 11th, 1961: Hamilton-Kitchener Brawl, Skinner and Knowles Suspended
Hot tempers flared up and a few punches were thrown at the Hamilton and Kitchener game yesterday and ended up with two players ejected. Clifton Skinner of the Steelers and Glenn Knowles of the Marshalls have now been reprimanded and issued 10-game suspensions by the league commissioner for their parts in the fracas.
Skinner on the season is batting .295 with 1 home run. His totals include 6 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 40 games.

 | Friday, June 9th, 1961: Bravo Torches Steelers for 5 Hits
"Believe it or not," said Kitchener right fielder Robinson Bravo, "they threw me some good pitches today."
That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Steelers with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the Hamilton manager, who saw his team fall to the Kitchener Marshalls, 7-5. "Hats off to him!"
Thus far this year Bravo has hit .356 with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. |
 | Saturday, June 3rd, 1961: Buys Dominates Marshalls in Shutout
In an impressive mound performance, Kjeld Buys of the Welland Bridges checked the Kitchener Marshalls on a 3-hitter and held them scoreless.
"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said the Kitchener manager. "Buys kept us confused the whole game."
The Welland hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and issued no walks in his 5-0 shutout victory.
To date Buys is 3-6 in 13 starts with a 3.65 ERA and has 30 strikeouts in 86.1 innings. |
