| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, June 28th, 1961: Royals Blank Brampton, Tapia Winner José Tapia of the Guelph Royals blanked Brampton 3-0 on a 3-hit complete-game shutout, striking out 4 batters and walking 1.
In 18 starts this season Tapia has compiled a 6-7 record and a 2.97 ERA. |  | Sunday, June 25th, 1961: Guelph-Hamilton Free-for-All Gets 7-Game Suspensions Júlio Vásquez of Guelph and Javier Núñez of Hamilton were the main participants in a bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. They will both miss 7 games because of their fight. League officials announced their suspensions today.
This season Vásquez has a 3-7 record with a 3.74 ERA in 15 starts.
Currently Núñez has a record of 10-4 with 84 strikeouts and 27 walks in 121.1 innings and a 1.93 ERA. |  | Friday, May 26th, 1961: Bullock Has Hot Hand, Bangs 6 hits On top of the Port Credit hit parade today was Danny Bullock. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 6 hits, sparking the Traders to a 13-2 victory over the Guelph Royals. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 6-6 performance.
The sweet swinging shortstop told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Royals wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
D. Bullock singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off J. Turner in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off G. Ford in the 9th.
