Monday, June 26th, 1961: Week's Top Performer Honored by LL
After all of Ángel Moya's years in baseball, some have suggested -- albeit very delicately -- that he should think about calling it quits. But the "mature adult," as he calls himself, showed last week that he's still capable of keeping up with the youngsters. The 38-year-old Chicago left fielder was honored today as the Lincoln League Player of the Week.

He fended off all comers by posting a .357 average with 10 hits in 28 at-bats, 5 home runs and 12 RBIs.

In 1961, Moya is hitting .183 with 9 home runs and 35 RBIs in 53 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .305 with 31 walks and 34 runs scored.
Thursday, June 8th, 1961: Bad News for Clout, Reynolds Injured
Harvey Reynolds at first refused to leave today's New York-Chicago game after he suffered a finger blister while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Chicago starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Reynolds out of action for 2 weeks.

So far this season Reynolds has compiled a 6-2 record with a 2.89 ERA.
Friday, May 26th, 1961: Cleveland Blanked by Santos
Leo Santos went the distance at Alderman Field today. The Chicago hurler yielded 2 hits, walked 3 and had 6 strikeouts in the Clout 3-0 triumph over the Cleveland Eagles.

Looking at his season stats, Santos has won 5 and lost 1, collecting 61 strikeouts and 19 walks in 71.2 innings with a 2.39 ERA.
