| Breaking News |  | Saturday, July 1st, 1961: Okada Gets June's Rookie Trophy
Ienobu Okada put up eye-catching numbers in June to earn himself the Lincoln League Rookie of the Month Award.
The second baseman for the Boston Morrills batted .333 with 8 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored as he proved he does deserve to play in the Lincoln League.
This season Okada has hit at a .292 clip with 58 RBIs, 15 home runs and 40 runs scored. |

It was an excellent month for Willis Harris. He really swung into action! The left fielder for the St. Louis Dredgers was named June's best newcomer in the Roosevelt League.
He captured the honor by hitting .330 with 38 hits, 4 home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
So far in 1961 Harris is hitting .307 with 4 home runs, 29 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 70 hits and played in 67 games. |
 | Saturday, July 1st, 1961: Jiméniz Snags LL Top Hurler Trophy
Francisco Jiméniz will be bringing June's Lincoln League Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Washington. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping.
Jiméniz started 7 games, going 7-0 with 41 strikeouts in 54.2 innings as he compiled his 1.15 ERA.
Jiméniz has made 17 starts so far this year and put up a 11-1 won-lost record with a 3.12 ERA. In 115.1 innings he has allowed 95 hits, walked 60 and struck out 79. |
